According to Sami Mokbel, a prominent British journalist, Mikel Arteta has agreed to an improved new contract with Premier League champions Arsenal, reportedly extending until at least 2029.

Sami Mokbel stated that Arteta's current contract expires at the end of this season, but negotiations for a new deal have been underway for months. Earlier this month, it was reported that all parties were close to reaching an agreement.

It is now understood that Arteta has reached a final agreement with Arsenal to extend his tenure at the club.

While the exact duration of the new contract has not been officially confirmed, it will keep him at Arsenal until at least 2029, marking his tenth year since arriving at Emirates Stadium in December 2019.

The new contract will also include a significant salary increase; his current annual salary is £10 million, plus an additional £5 million in bonuses.

When asked about contract negotiations last week, Arteta said: "The fans don't have to worry about that because I want to stay here. I am very happy and very grateful to work with these colleagues."
