According to Mundo Deportivo, Ronald Araujo has impressed Liverpool and coach Andoni Iraola in just seven matches since joining the club on loan, with his performances potentially leading to a permanent transfer.

Araujo has quickly impressed Liverpool and Iraola, with five of his seven appearances being starts. The Uruguayan center-back is on loan from Barcelona until the end of the season with a €55 million buyout option and has seized the opportunity to establish himself in the English team's plans.

His adaptability has been particularly striking. He initially played as a center-back in Premier League matches against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest, but Iraola subsequently deployed him at right-back in league fixtures against Ipswich, Fulham, and Bournemouth, in the Champions League against Atlético Madrid, and in the Carabao Cup against Tottenham.

Iraola has highlighted Araujo's ability to play multiple positions and expressed satisfaction with his performance and attitude since arriving at Anfield. His display against Atlético Madrid, which included a spectacular backheel assist, impressed supporters. His performances suggest this loan could evolve into a permanent arrangement. The agreement between Barcelona and Liverpool includes a €55 million buyout clause at the end of the season. While this clause does not obligate Liverpool to retain the player, if Araujo maintains his current level, the club's management could seriously consider exercising the option.

Araujo's Barcelona contract runs until 2031. He came to England seeking regular first-team football and is currently delivering on that front, a positive sign for a potential permanent move. His adaptation has been smooth, and his transition to right-back has contributed to the team's defensive improvement. After the Atlético Madrid match, he stated that he still follows Barcelona and is pleased for his former teammates, describing Barcelona as one of the Champions League favorites.
