According to Il Tempo, Strootman spoke about Roma's start to the season and Malen's performance in an interview, stating that Malen feels valued at Roma, thanks to Gasperini's work.

Recalling his five years in Roma, Strootman simply said, "Roma is Roma." He quickly won over the Roma fans, especially through their support during his ACL injury and subsequent difficulties. Rudi Garcia once called him "the washing machine" due to his ability to process every ball. Strootman also expressed his satisfaction with Roma's start to the season.

Regarding Gasperini's management of Roma, Strootman said, "Gasperini is doing a great job. Roma has had a fantastic start, and I hope the team can continue this way. Roma has played some excellent matches and performed very well. The most important thing now is to keep going down this path."

When discussing Malen's performance, Strootman stated, "We didn't play together much, but I've known him for a long time, and he's an excellent striker. He performed well in Germany and England, though not always as a starter. After coming to Roma, he gained a lot of trust, primarily thanks to the coach, and he's playing very well now. You can see this change in the national team as well. He has exceptional ability and incredible speed. I think Roma is a good fit for him; he feels important and has proven it with his performances.
