According to COPE journalist Víctor Navarro, Barcelona has demanded that Florentino retract his statements about Barcelona and the Negreira case made during his Real Madrid presidential campaign, with a mediation hearing scheduled for November 25.

According to reports, in May of this year, while campaigning for Real Madrid club president, Florentino stated: "We could have won 14 league titles, because the others were stolen," citing the Negreira case as a prime example of "20 years of systemic corruption."

Florentino noted that despite investigations, "the referees are still the same group of people," expressing his lack of trust in the current refereeing system. He also claimed that the club had documented instances of unfair refereeing decisions from the previous season.

Barcelona's acting president at the time, Rafa Yuste, responded to Florentino's remarks and announced legal action: "The problem is that he cannot accept what we are doing, and our legal department has prepared the legal action we will take against Real Madrid and its president."

"They resorted to the most despicable means to attack us, and we will confront them in court. No one can tarnish the reputation of Barcelona, no one can tarnish this badge, and no one can harm any of you. Therefore, please trust that we will hold them accountable because we are in the right."

The mediation hearing between Barcelona and Florentino is scheduled for 9:40 AM local time on November 25 at Courtrooms 1 and 2 of the Madrid court, following Yuste's defamation lawsuit after Florentino's press conference and statements.

Barcelona is demanding that Florentino retract his statements and identify the referees whom he claimed accepted bribes and referred to as "Negreira's boys." If he fails to attend the mediation hearing or does not rectify the matter, Barcelona will file a criminal complaint, and he will be required to testify in court.
