On October 2, LaLiga announced that it has officially signed a consultancy agreement with Chad, an African nation. This agreement will provide professional support for the development of Chadian football through initiatives in training, talent identification, institutional capacity building, and the future construction of a national football academy.

LaLiga and Chad's Ministry of Youth and Sports have formally signed a consultancy agreement. The two parties will promote the development and professionalization of football in the African nation through a multi-year, progressive program.
This project aims to support Chad through a gradual transformation process, from enhancing its own capabilities and organizational structure to progressively establishing tools and methods that can generate long-term, sustainable impact. The combination of talent development, training, methodology, governance, and knowledge transfer will allow LaLiga's experience to be tailored to the specific needs and development priorities of Chadian football.
This agreement will combine LaLiga's experience and methodology with local knowledge and capabilities, focusing on talent identification and development, training, and strengthening the organizational structure of Chadian football.

As part of this collaboration, His Excellency Nair Abakar, Chad's Minister of Youth and Sports, led a delegation to visit LaLiga's headquarters in Madrid today. During the visit, the two parties formally confirmed their partnership. LaLiga presented its main areas of work and held meetings with the team responsible for the project to advance the planning of the next phase of actions.
Nair Abakar, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Chad, stated: "Our goal for Chadian football is to provide a good environment for young players to develop, to strengthen our clubs, and to make our league more competitive. We chose to establish this partnership with LaLiga to help achieve this goal. This collaboration combines recognized professional expertise in football with our local knowledge and commitment to the sport. Both parties hope to jointly create a plan that will produce tangible results, which will be reflected in the careers of players, the work of coaches, and various aspects of club operations."
Javier Tebas, President of LaLiga, said: "LaLiga is delighted to support Chad in this project. Our consultancy projects in different parts of the world allow us to share our knowledge and methodology while working closely with local institutions and professionals and adapting to the specific circumstances of each country. Through this cooperation, we hope to help Chad build knowledge, capabilities, and tools that can develop sustainably in the long term."
Tresor Penku, LaLiga's Managing Director for Africa, stated: "This collaboration provides an opportunity for LaLiga to apply its knowledge and experience to the development of Chadian football. We will work with local institutions and professionals to build a solid and sustainable foundation for Chadian football. We hope to support this process from a comprehensive perspective, combining talent development, training, methodology, and local capacity building, to ensure that the acquired knowledge remains within the Chadian football ecosystem and contributes to the long-term development of local football."
The first phase of the project will focus on strengthening the foundation
The first phase of the project will focus on establishing the foundation needed for subsequent phases of cooperation. Key tasks include conducting nationwide talent identification activities and establishing a tracking system for identified players; providing technical consulting on the design and architecture of the future national football academy; providing training for coaches, administrators, and sports managers; and conducting a strategic diagnosis of the local league, along with recommendations and a roadmap for league transformation.
This phase will be primarily structure-building in nature, aiming to establish a unified methodology, strengthen local professional capabilities, gain an in-depth understanding of the specific needs of clubs and competitions, and determine the conditions required for broader operational implementation in the second phase.
Subsequent phases of the project will focus on promoting the gradual transformation of Chad's football organizational structure. Planned work includes supporting the operation and gradual improvement of the future national football academy, ensuring continuous work in player identification, training, and tracking.
The project will also promote the implementation of previously proposed recommendations for leagues and clubs, while standardizing various work processes and transferring knowledge and skills to local professionals and teams. The ultimate goal is to build long-term sustainable professional capabilities and promote the long-term development of Chadian football.
