On October 7, Arsenal officially announced that they have renewed their contract with head coach Mikel Arteta.

Official Announcement

We are delighted to announce that Mikel Arteta has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal.

This new contract reflects our shared belief that the progress made in recent years, and last season's success, are just the beginning of a special era in the club's history.

Last season, Arteta became the 7th manager in Arsenal's history to lead the team to a Premier League title, securing the club's 14th top-flight championship and their 4th Premier League title. This marks Arsenal's first league championship in 22 years.

Moving forward, we will continue to work together to build on this success, competing for major trophies in a sustainable way while strengthening the bond between the club and its fans.

Arsenal Co-Chairmen Stan Kroenke and Josh Kroenke stated:

"It has been an incredible journey so far, and we are very excited about the future. Last season was an extraordinary moment in Arsenal's history, creating memories that will last a lifetime, and we are determined to create many more in the coming years.

"We have a special bond with Mikel. Since his arrival in 2019, we are incredibly proud of everything we have achieved together.

"He deeply understands Arsenal's values and holds them close to his heart. He knows what this club means to everyone associated with it and is committed to building on our achievements together."

Arsenal Chief Executive Richard Garlick added:

"This is an important period in Arsenal Football Club's history. We hope to usher in an era of sustained success with Mikel. We will continue to work hand-in-hand towards the long-term goals of the club and its fans.

"Mikel possesses belief, determination, and a profound understanding of how to build a great and consistently competitive team. We are very much looking forward to continuing this journey with him."

Arteta stated:

"It is an honor for me to commit my future to this club. I am delighted to continue working with a great group of people who all want Arsenal to be better. This club is unique; it has a distinctive character and brings a special feeling. I am very proud that our shared journey will continue.

"We have built a special bond and created memories that will last a lifetime. And the most exciting thing is that this is just the beginning of what we can achieve together.

"I want to especially thank Stan and Josh for their trust and support. It is a great privilege to lead this club during such a special period in Arsenal's 140-year history.

"For me and my family, this is an immensely proud moment. I can feel the love and respect from our wonderful fans, and I – and my family – love and respect them equally."

Arteta was appointed as Arsenal's head coach in December 2019. His new contract extension will keep him as head coach until June 2030.

To date, Arteta has managed Arsenal in 361 matches across all competitions, achieving a win rate of 62.05%, the highest among all full-time managers in Arsenal's history.

Arteta's coaching staff have also agreed to contract extensions aligned with the head coach's new deal.

This contract remains subject to the completion of relevant regulatory procedures.
