According to AS, Yamal played a total of 281 minutes during this international break, exceeding the 270-minute limit promised by Spain coach Luis de la Fuente, with stoppage time not yet included.

De la Fuente had previously stated that no Spanish national team player would play more than 270 minutes during this international break. Yamal was the only player to start all four matches, ultimately accumulating 281 minutes on the field. Yamal did not actively request to be substituted, and de la Fuente replaced him late in the match. The Ballon d'Or nominee did not score or assist in this match, but he repeatedly beat Gvardiol in the first half, creating problems for the Manchester City defender. Gvardiol gradually stabilized his performance in the second half.

Previously, Flick and de la Fuente had tensions over Yamal's usage, but both later stated that their relationship had improved. It remains to be seen whether Barcelona coach Flick will maintain this truce. De la Fuente has stated repeatedly that player fitness is his top priority. During this international break, Ferran Torres, Grimaldo, Nico Williams, and Barcelona player Eric García all left the team early due to physical issues.

After the match against Croatia, Pedri defended his Barcelona teammate. Yamal was frustrated by missed opportunities, and Pedri said: "He played another great game, just lacked a bit of finishing. He wasn't as sharp as in previous games. He played well but wasted those chances, so he was very frustrated. Yes, he was a bit unhappy when he came off."

Pedri also said: "He demands a lot from himself, always wants to score, always wants to contribute to the team. Even without goals or assists, he can still help tremendously because he attracts many defenders. He is a game-changer, and fortunately, we have him in the national team and at Barcelona."

During this international break, Yamal scored 1 goal against England, scored twice in the victory over Croatia in Seville, and then scored against the Czech Republic in Oviedo, also providing 1 assist at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.
