After receiving a suspension and posting an apology on social media, Vinicius reposted a story from the fan account Viniciusjrxteam, questioning the double standard in how referees have handled situations involving him.

The account argues that referees have applied inconsistent standards when handling fouls by Vinicius against opponents and fouls by opponents against Vinicius. The post lists controversial incidents involving Balliu, Calatrava, Olazagasti, and Albiol, as well as challenges Vinicius faced in matches against Mallorca and Girona.

February 2022, LaLiga: Rayo Vallecano 0-1 Real Madrid. Minute 42, Iván Balliu struck Vinicius in the face with both hands during a challenge, causing him to fall. The referee did not card Balliu for this action, and VAR did not intervene.

August 2023, LaLiga: Espanyol 1-2 Real Madrid. Minute 3, Vinicius fell to the ground and was unable to contest the ball when Calatrava kicked him in the back. The referee issued no card to Calatrava for this action.

April 2025, Copa del Rey semi-final second leg: Real Madrid drew 4-4 with Real Sociedad after extra time. Minute 106, Olazagasti fouled Vinicius, who was running forward with the ball, without touching it. Real Madrid players appealed for a red card, but Olazagasti received only a yellow card.

February 2022, LaLiga: Villarreal 0-0 Real Madrid. Around minute 15 of the first half, after Raúl Albiol passed back to the goalkeeper, his elbow collided with Vinicius's face as he pressed forward, causing Vinicius to fall and require treatment. The referee did not award a penalty or issue a card for this action, and VAR did not ask the referee to review the incident on the sideline monitor.

March 2022, LaLiga: Mallorca 0-3 Real Madrid. Minute 29, Maffeo extended his leg to block Vinicius, with his boot connecting near Vinicius's knee. The referee did not award a foul or card for this action. An altercation ensued, and Vinicius received a yellow card for disputing the decision with his opponent.

April 2023, LaLiga: Girona 4-2 Real Madrid. The post highlights an ankle contact between Arnau Martínez and Vinicius in the opening minutes, which the referee did not card at the time. Arnau later received a yellow card for a separate foul in the first half.
