Flick has decided not to take Raphinha to Istanbul for the Champions League away match against Galatasaray, with the Brazilian winger left out of the squad. This decision is primarily for medical protection rather than tactical reasons, with the player and coach agreeing to prevent a recurrence of injury.

Flick confirmed last Friday that Raphinha would not travel with the team to Turkey for Tuesday's Champions League match against Galatasaray. This mutual agreement also led to his absence from last Saturday's league match against Getafe.
Club insiders say that after last season's experience, Flick is unwilling to take any more risks. Last season, Raphinha rushed back from injury before fully recovering, consequently suffering new injuries and being sidelined for extended periods. A source from the coaching staff told Marca, "This time, we want to rule out any surprises."
This decision was mutually agreed upon. Raphinha might have played in an El Clásico, but with the current dense schedule and strong opponents coming one after another, the coach and player chose to give him more time to fully recover.
The team has also adjusted its travel schedule: after the Galatasaray match, Barcelona will not return immediately but will stay overnight in Istanbul and train there. They will then fly back to Spain on Wednesday to reduce travel fatigue and lower injury risks, preparing for Saturday's LaLiga away match against Real Betis.
