The Chilli Boy is set to join the Super Eagles for preparations ahead of the quadrennial tournament

Chippa United gave goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi a glamorous send-off before he embarked on his trip to join Nigeria for pre-World Cup activities.
On Sunday, the shot-stopper, named in the three-time African champions' 30-man provisional list for the big summer in Russia, was escorted to the Port Elizabeth International Airport by supporters and management of the Chilli Boys.
The 31-year-old was between the sticks as his side were held to a 1-1 draw away at Polokwane City on Saturday, in their final PSL encounter of the season.
The former Heartland man played 23 times for the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium outfit who finished 10th in the log after gathering 37 points from 30 matches.
In the national team, however, Akpeyi has to contend with three others goalies in the mould of Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Francis Uzoho and Dele Ajiboye.
The national team camp opens on Monday, in Uyo and Gernot Rohr's team will play DR Congo at the Godswill Akapbio Stadium on Sunday.
Games against England [June 2] and Czech Republic [June 6] will finalise the Super Eagles' preparation ahead of the World Cup, where they have been pitted with Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in Group D.
