On August 1st, Infantino announced via FIFA's official channels that the FFE proposal would be terminated. In response, the AFC President expressed his welcome.

The AFC President hopes that any future initiatives with the potential to affect global football should be presented and discussed in a timely, transparent, and meaningful manner with confederations, the FIFA Council, Member Associations (MAs), and other stakeholders.

Shaikh Salman said: "The future of global football must always be shaped through proper consultation, collective dialogue, and respect for our established governance structures."

"The AFC is prepared to support any initiative that strengthens the unity of the football family, promotes the continuous development of global football, and brings substantial benefits to all stakeholders."

The AFC President also thanked the AFC Member Associations for their patience, solidarity, and unity.

"I am proud of all our Member Associations for standing united and entrusting the AFC to represent them in seeking answers to extremely important questions about the future governance of world football. I thank them for their patience, solidarity, and unity, and assure them that the AFC will always act in their best interests."
