According to Cape Town City chairman John Comitis, Bayern Munich has invited 17-year-old South African prodigy Emile Witbooi for a trial.

Witbooi was named Player of the Season in South Africa's second-tier league last season (voted by players). He primarily plays as an attacking midfielder but can also play as a left winger.

Comitis stated, "We received an invitation for him to go to Bayern Munich, and we are currently considering it. For his development, we want to see what level he needs to reach. He previously had trials at Chelsea and also went to Sporting Lisbon upon request."
