According to Corriere dello Sport, Diaby is Internazionale's top target to fill the void left by Dumfries' departure to Real Madrid. His offensive attributes align better with Chivu's recruitment requirements following the friendly against Manchester City, and acquiring him would not require Internazionale to sell a player first.

The Nerazzurri are in transfer negotiations with Al-Ittihad. Sporting Director Ausilio has included Asllani in the offer along with cash, for a total package worth approximately 30 million euros, but the two sides have not yet reached an agreement. In contrast, Bayer Leverkusen's offer is entirely in cash.

The current situation is that whichever club reaches an agreement with the Saudi side first will be able to sign the French international. Diaby is reportedly open to returning to Germany or moving to Italy, having briefly played for Crotone in 2018.

The Juventus winger's transfer could progress later, especially if his arrival can address two problems simultaneously: filling the wing vacancy and resolving the Frattesi situation that Internazionale will face after returning from Australia.
