According to Brazilian media, Bahia legend and former Santos forward Douglas Franklin has passed away at the age of 76.

Douglas is Bahia's second all-time leading scorer with 184 goals. During his time at Santos, he partnered with Pelé in attack, scoring 75 goals. From 1972 to 1980, he made 456 appearances for Bahia and was a key member of the team that won seven consecutive Bahia State Championship titles between 1973 and 1979. Additionally, Douglas is also Bahia's all-time leading assist provider.
