According to Globo Esporte, a contractual agreement stipulates that Hulk cannot represent Fluminense against Atlético Mineiro.

This Saturday, Atlético Mineiro will face Fluminense at the MRV Arena in Round 27 of the Brasileirão. Fans had hoped to see Atlético Mineiro idol Hulk in a Fluminense shirt against his former club, but this will not happen.

In the agreement reached between the two clubs regarding Hulk's transfer, both parties stipulated that Hulk cannot play against Atlético Mineiro. The restriction is valid until the end of this year. Hulk's contract with Fluminense, signed in May, runs through the end of 2027.

If Fluminense wanted Hulk to play, they would have to pay a fine, but the club has chosen not to do so. Therefore, the star wearing the No. 7 shirt will miss Saturday's match.

Since joining Fluminense, Hulk has made 13 appearances, scoring 5 goals and providing 3 assists, including 4 goals in his last 6 matches.

Hulk joined Atlético Mineiro in 2021. After more than five years with the club, he became one of Atlético Mineiro's most iconic figures. He helped the team win the 2021 Brasileirão, the 2021 Copa do Brasil, the 2022 Supercopa do Brasil, and five consecutive state league titles from 2021 to 2025. Hulk made 309 appearances for Atlético Mineiro, scoring 140 goals and providing 55 assists.
