This Thursday, local time, the Spanish Super Cup was officially unveiled in Istanbul. Due to Saudi Arabia's inability to host the event because of the AFC Asian Cup, the tournament will begin on January 3 in Istanbul, Turkey. The event was hosted by Turkish Sports Minister Osman Aşkın Bak and Culture Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, with Spanish Football Federation President Rafael Luzán also in attendance.

Rafael Luzán said, "This is a grand event between two countries with extraordinary passion for football. This tournament will further strengthen ties between the two countries and is an excellent opportunity to promote tourism in Istanbul and throughout Turkey."

"The Spanish Super Cup continues to grow and brings the excellence of Spanish football to more new fans. In a few months, Turkish fans will be able to enjoy the charm of the Spanish Super Cup, an intense and exciting competition."
