Shortly after the transfer window closed, AS Monaco director Igor Skorobati revealed Balogun's frustration with Everton's approach.

"Florian's words were: 'I feel frustrated because of how the club treated me,'" Skorobati told journalists.

"Now I feel bad because Everton's medical staff questioned my fitness or health."

"I have no issues (no injuries), so I wasn't willing to sign a long-term contract there."

However, Arsenal did include a sell-on clause. If the American international is sold by AS Monaco in January, Arsenal will receive 17.5% of the transfer fee.
