Hull City manager Mike Phelan will watch Dundalk winger Daryl Horgan when they take on AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League as the competition for his signature intensifies.

Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy will also be in attendance at the Tallaght Stadium on Thursday night.

Horgan has been a revelation for Dundalk during their European run and won his first call-up to the Republic of Ireland squad for this month’s World Cup qualifier against Austria.

The 24-year-old is out of contract next month and will be available on a free transfer.

North-East rivals Newcastle United and Sunderland have both checked on the daring wideman, but Horgan will delay any decision on his future until after the conclusion of the Europa League group stage on December 8.

Dundalk can still reach the knock-out stages of the competition after collecting four points from their first four games.

Their fate will go down the the final group game next month when they take on Maccabi Tel-Aviv in Isreal.
