After completing training on September 26 local time, Japan international Koda Sano was interviewed by the Japan Football Association's official website.

(September 25 was my 23rd birthday.) My teammates all congratulated me. Reaching a new year can lead to significant growth, so I want to cherish every day's training and how I spend each day even more than before, and continue to develop.

The match against Uruguay was personally a game where I discovered many challenges in both offense and defense. I want to improve these areas, and if I can play in the next match, I want to show my improved performance. I have already identified the areas that need improvement, so I believe it will carry forward to the next game.

There are players of the same generation on this roster, and if each of us shows solid performance, I hope the overall strength of the team can be enhanced as a result. (Matsuki) Kuryu and (Shiogai) Kento scored goals and contributed to the team, so I don't want to fall behind them myself.
