Roy Keane says he might still return to management.

ITV and Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane recently admitted he would consider a return to management. With Celtic manager Neil Lennon's future uncertain, Keane was previously spotted in the stands at Celtic Park, fueling speculation that he could replace him. However, Celtic chief executive Michael Nicholson has expressed support for the manager, and the final decision rests with the club's leadership. Keane previously worked with Martin O'Neill during his time managing the Republic of Ireland national team and Nottingham Forest.

Keane has not managed for 15 years since leaving Ipswich Town. He began his managerial career at Sunderland and then spent two years at Ipswich Town.

Speaking on a Sky Sports Premier League show on Saturday, Keane said: "When I'm watching games at the weekend, sometimes I think there are certain teams I could go and manage and maybe do a good job. But that's mostly just at the weekend. During the week, I don't think that way. When I see managers rushing around on the motorway, under all sorts of pressure, I hesitate. But I do still feel that pull. I think I've always had that fire in my belly."

After Micah Richards suggested the desire to manage was "still in your blood," Keane responded: "Yes, because even when we're just watching a game, we're looking at it from a manager's perspective. Maybe, maybe. But to really get back into management, all the practical aspects have to be considered."

Keane also revealed that he received some coaching opportunities in recent years but chose to decline them to continue his current television work. He said: "It's easy to sit here and say 'yes, yes', but the reality is another matter. I did get some opportunities in the last few years, but when you think about contracts and coaching staff, you hesitate: 'Do I really want to go?' Sometimes you tell yourself to just stick with what you're doing now."

Keane's last spell as a player was at Celtic, where he had a brief stint in 2006. In 2014, Keane rejected the Celtic manager's job, and the club subsequently appointed Ronny Deila. Keane revealed that Dermot Desmond told him at the time that the job was his if he wanted it.
