Former Brazilian international Felipe Melo stated in a video that Portugal's treatment of Cristiano Ronaldo differs greatly from how Argentina's national team treats Messi, and Ronaldo subsequently liked the video.

In the video, Melo said: "In my opinion, it's true, and I agree with Paulo's perspective: the attitude of Portuguese players toward Cristiano Ronaldo is very different from that of Argentine players toward Messi."

"You know? I can see that opponents show much more respect for Cristiano Ronaldo; maybe I'm wrong, but that's the intuitive impression that comes across to the outside world, right? I see opponents treating Cristiano Ronaldo with great reverence when they play against him. The young striker from Napoli who scored yesterday (Højlund) became completely enamored after the match, all because Cristiano Ronaldo is his idol. In contrast, this kind of respect is lacking within the Portuguese national team. I think this is completely wrong."

"Because in that Portuguese team, no one can compare to Cristiano Ronaldo."

"You understand? It really shouldn't be like this! You can't let the greatest player in football history leave just like that, as if nothing happened. Absolutely not, this is simply unacceptable!"

"He just left, and nobody went to comfort him."

"Absolutely not! This is simply unacceptable..."

Later, Cristiano Ronaldo's account appeared in the likes of this video post. The video's title was: "In the Portuguese team, no one can compare to Cristiano Ronaldo. Felipe Melo speaks about Cristiano Ronaldo's current situation in the Portuguese national team."
