Inter Milan legend Alessandro Altobelli spoke at the Trento Sports Festival, praising Lautaro as one of the best in the world and a true Inter Milan man.

Speaking about Sandro Mazzola, Altobelli said, "I owe him and Beltrami everything for bringing me to Inter Milan. They came to Brescia to watch me play, and I scored two goals. After the match, they waited for me, and after we talked, I moved to Inter. As an Inter fan, that experience made me so happy. Inter also allowed me to join the national team and become world champion, so Mazzola was my guide."

On Italy's current national team, Altobelli said, "We didn't play well in the first four matches of the 1982 World Cup, barely qualifying with a draw against Peru. This national team is very young, and Mancini has done an excellent job selecting many talented and passionate players. I'm confident they will bring many surprises."

Commenting on Bastoni's goalscoring performance for Italy, Altobelli said, "This is nothing new to me. I knew him when I was at Atalanta and always admired him. I think he's one of the best in the world right now."

Asked if Inter Milan is the strongest team in Serie A, Altobelli answered, "I believe so. They spent years building this competitive team, and now they've succeeded. This is thanks to Ausilio and Marotta, two of Italy's best managers."

When asked if Pio Esposito reminds him of himself, Altobelli said, "He's now one of Italy's best strikers. Not many strikers are so dedicated in a match. He makes Inter Milan and the national team happy and deserves all the praise because he gives everything. I won't make comparisons; maybe he's better than me, but as I often say, back then I was better than anyone (laughs). I left some memories, and I hope Esposito brings even more surprises."

Asked if Roma could trouble Inter Milan, Altobelli said, "Roma has built a good squad, they play well, and the results prove it. It would be even more interesting if AC Milan and Napoli could join the title race."

On Malen's performance, Altobelli said, "I didn't know much about him before, but he's a very good striker."

About Lautaro rejecting Barcelona this past summer and choosing to stay at Inter Milan, Altobelli commented, "That's another big plus for him. Besides being one of the best in the world, he really loves this shirt. He turned down many top clubs because he's a true Inter Milan man. Like me? Maybe a bit less so (laughs). If someone takes that shirt from you, it's like taking half your life away."
