According to Corriere della Sera, C. Immobile gave an exclusive interview about his career path going forward, a new era for the Italian national team, and his final year with SS Lazio.

C. Immobile said: "When you have a Rolls-Royce and realize it's not running as fast as it used to, you have to accept defeat.

That happened to me, and I didn't want to leave a bad impression. I've given football a lot and received a lot from it. Retiring is a way to honor myself and those who watched me play.

What changed? I've lived a very structured life all along. Suddenly there was no plan. So I reorganized myself: going to the gym, closely following my business ventures, and spending more time with family."

Regarding the new era of the Italian national team, C. Immobile expressed excitement about Roberto Mancini's return as coach. Mancini previously led the team to win Euro 2021 with C. Immobile.

C. Immobile said: "This is the best decision. It's not about nostalgia for the past. Mancini has the ability to unite the team and not make you overthink things. He looks for essential qualities that matter just as much as technical ability. Today he's called up these players, which shows his confidence in them and encourages them. Everyone is motivated. No one will give up. The results of the change are already evident.

He engages with everyone equally and succeeds in bringing them together to achieve a common goal. This field belongs only to them. All disputes are left off the pitch. If I were to replace Mancini? I still have a long way to go—another 10 years. I would really like to sit in that position."

Regarding his final year with SS Lazio, C. Immobile commented: "They saw me leaving. They shook my hand, and eventually I was the one who raised my hand and departed. But I swear that until the very end, my relationship with Lotito was like father and son. So the sadness was doubled: I opened the door and let out all the frustration. Now they're leading the league? The fans must be very happy."
