According to Colombian media outlet El Deportivo, Premier League clubs Brighton & Hove Albion and AFC Bournemouth are closely monitoring Neder Parra, a 21-year-old center-back for Atlético Nacional. Both clubs have sent scouts to Medellín to observe the young player's performance firsthand. In addition, clubs such as Porto, Ajax, and Palmeiras are also keeping an eye on him.

Sport Witness reported that Brighton & Hove Albion and AFC Bournemouth both sent representatives to the Atanasio Girardot Stadium to watch Atlético Nacional's match against Junior FC on September 30. This news further confirms earlier reports from Colombian journalist Julián Capera, who had revealed that scouts from Premier League and Serie A clubs were evaluating Parra.
In addition to the two Premier League clubs, Porto, Ajax, and Palmeiras have also shown interest in the Colombian center-back. However, as of now, no club has confirmed making a formal offer or entering into transfer negotiations with Atlético Nacional.
Amid interest from several clubs, Parra has also proven his ability with his on-field performance. Atlético Nacional defeated Junior FC 3-1 in that match, with Parra involved in the build-up to the team's first goal.
According to data provided by Sport Witness, Parra contributed one assist in the match, successfully completed all his tackles, achieved a 93% passing accuracy in his own half, and made six defensive actions.
This match further boosted Parra's profile in the international transfer market. He was tested against a strong opponent under the watchful eyes of scouts from multiple European clubs.
Parra's full name is Neder Parra Moya. He was born on April 30, 2003, in Puerto Giraldo, a rural area of Apartadó, Colombia, and is currently 21 years old.
Unlike many players who entered professional club youth academies at a young age, Parra did not begin systematic football training until he was 18. At that time, he joined Club Ciudad de Medellín.
In 2023, during a match against Independiente Medellín, Atlético Nacional scouts noticed Parra's performance and subsequently invited him for a trial. With his excellent physical condition and playing ability, Parra successfully entered the Atlético Nacional youth academy.
Subsequently, Atlético Nacional sent him to Real Cundinamarca to gain professional match experience. Parra played for that team in 2024 and returned to Medellín in 2025.
On March 2 of this year, Parra made his first-team debut for Atlético Nacional in a match against Deportes Tolima.
Standing at 1.92 meters tall, Parra possesses strong aerial ability, along with decent ball-playing skills from the back. He has also shown potential in physical duels and one-on-one defending.
With increasing match experience, Parra gradually established himself in Atlético Nacional's first team and began to attract attention from more overseas clubs in the second half of 2024.
Reports indicate that the interest from Brighton & Hove Albion and AFC Bournemouth in Parra aligns with both clubs' recent transfer strategies.
Brighton & Hove Albion has consistently sought young players with development potential and resale value globally. Club chairman Tony Bloom stated in 2024 that the team would look for suitable players in South America, Asia, and Europe, considering age, individual ability, and transfer costs.
Brighton & Hove Albion's acquisition of Matías Orozco from Deportivo Cali in August of this year is also part of their strategy to sign young international players.
AFC Bournemouth also prioritizes the development and recruitment of young players. Former manager Andoni Iraola previously stated that the club has been signing young players aged around 18 to 20 in recent years.
A representative example of this strategy is AFC Bournemouth's signing of 19-year-old Brazilian player Rayan from Vasco da Gama.
Therefore, Parra's age, his 1.92-meter height, his accumulating professional match experience, and his ball-playing ability from the back all meet the criteria that the two Premier League clubs look for in young, promising players.
However, Brighton & Hove Albion and AFC Bournemouth's interest in Parra remains in the scouting phase, with no formal offers or negotiations confirmed yet.
