According to The Late Run podcast by Goal.com, Müller discussed an approximate €100 million offer from Manchester United in 2015, which Bayern Munich ultimately rejected.

Müller stated, "In 2015, Manchester United made an offer of around €100 million," confirming the amount reported by several media outlets at the time. Manchester United had hoped to pay this sum to Bayern Munich to sign Müller. "But I was still under contract at the time, and Bayern said no."
In previous interviews, Müller had often mentioned Manchester United's interest. At the age of 25, he seriously considered leaving Bayern Munich to join Manchester United. At that time, Louis van Gaal, who had coached Bayern Munich and helped Müller rise to prominence, was managing Manchester United, which was one of the reasons he considered the transfer.
Müller said, "I did think about leaving. The offer was very good, and it gave me the chance to work with my mentor again. Plus, I was in my twenties then and felt ready to play in the Premier League." Today, Müller plays for Vancouver Whitecaps in Major League Soccer.
When asked why he wasn't disappointed after Bayern Munich rejected the offer, Müller replied, "Bayern said no, and I was equally happy. Because their rejection of €100 million was a huge affirmation of me; it was like them telling me, 'You are our guy.'"
Müller stated that he has always enjoyed life at Säbener Straße. The 2014 World Cup winner said, "At Bayern, you have everything you want: you play in the Champions League every year, the city is big, and the team is number one in Germany. As a German international, you are always in the spotlight. I've always liked that pressure." As a Bayern youth academy product and a local player, he said he "always felt more responsible to the fans than other players."
