Under new regulations approved by all 20 Premier League clubs last summer, Man City's appeal hearing must conclude by December 24, with proceedings lasting no more than 5 days and conducted in depth. The appeals panel then has 30 days to issue its decision.

If Man City loses its appeal, both sides will be called for a hearing on sanctions. However, the sanctions hearing could also take place before the appeal process begins.

Premier League regulations state that the panel has the authority to impose or recommend any sanction, ranging from fines to expulsion from the league. Premier League lawyers will present arguments for their desired sanctions, and Man City also has the right to argue for lighter measures; the panel may disregard both sides' positions when making its decision.

Possible sanctions include points deduction, fines, transfer bans, or prohibiting Man City from representing the Premier League in UEFA or FIFA competitions. These sanctions would be implemented immediately following the final ruling.

Clause B6 stipulates that the Premier League may remove a club from membership through a special resolution. The resolution must be passed by a vote of at least three-quarters of eligible members or their representatives at a formally convened meeting, with notice specifying the intent to propose such a resolution.

This means 15 of the 20 Premier League clubs must vote in favor to expel Man City from the league. If this threshold is not reached, the proposal fails and the situation becomes more complicated.

Man City remains determined to win its appeal and believes it has submitted sufficient evidence to overturn the panel's "findings." Previously, Man City accused the three-person panel of believing in a "Premier League conspiracy theory."
