According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has officially entered administration, with Giovanni Malagò appointed as interim commissioner. On Tuesday, Malagò spoke publicly for the first time about the appointment, calling it a "victory for reason" and revealing that FIGC elections could be held on December 14.

Discussing the appointment process, Malagò said: "I believe each of you can judge for yourselves whether there are winners or losers, or perhaps neither. To describe what happened previously as a 'misunderstanding' would be an understatement in my opinion."
"Yesterday, Buonfiglio called and invited me to meet today. A proposal was made at the meeting that I fully agreed with, and it was also confirmed by all committee members. There were no issues throughout the process."
Malagò explained his reasons for accepting the role: "I did this out of love for Sport and CONI, and to avoid division and embarrassing situations. For many, this might be complicated, but I showed a positive attitude towards this solution from the very beginning."
Regarding the final arrangement, Malagò stated: "I feel very calm, and we have acted logically throughout this process. Because, ultimately, we are talking about reason and common sense."
He further emphasized: "I believe this is a victory for reason. Now, I am working as interim commissioner without any deputies, which makes me feel an even greater sense of responsibility."
Regarding future FIGC elections, Malagò revealed: "I need to go back to the office to check the schedule. We might announce the elections before December 7, and I think the earliest feasible election date could be December 14."
When asked if the Italian football community had always supported him, Malagò replied: "I don't know why anyone would think otherwise. The various constituent bodies have always expressed their trust in me."
Malagò also addressed issues concerning qualifications and conflicts of interest.
He said: "This is quite interesting. On one hand, I must have the relevant registration qualifications; on the other hand, I cannot have conflicts of interest with clubs. But that's life, and we will address all issues with a firm attitude."
"Buonfiglio made this request to me in advance, before the committee meeting. He will also send me an official letter."
Regarding the possibility of Dario Bianchedi returning, Malagò said: "I don't think this is an issue the interim commissioner should handle; it should be decided by the president."
Speaking about his upcoming schedule, Malagò revealed he would travel to Berlin the next morning for a meeting with UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin.
Finally, Malagò also discussed the recent performance of the Italian national team.
He said: "I am very pleased with the national team. We are going through a lengthy process and have experienced many difficult moments. I attended your press conferences, but such enthusiasm cannot last forever."
"What impressed me was that 4 million Italians followed the related coverage after the match. This is the result of the collective efforts of Mancini, the players, Ranieri, and Baldini."
