Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sigurdsson discussed his former club's current situation and spoke about Kane in an interview.

Sigurdsson made 83 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur between the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons. Discussing how Tottenham narrowly survived relegation last season and currently sits at the bottom of the Premier League table this season, he said: "Clearly, this probably isn't the start to the season they were hoping for. However, with a new manager and new players, and giving the team a bit more time, I think De Zerbi can do a great job. They have brilliant players, great fans, a good staff, a fantastic training ground, and a wonderful stadium. I'm confident they'll be able to turn things around and improve their position soon."

Sigurdsson, who now plays for Vikingur Reykjavik, believes De Zerbi, who previously managed Brighton and Marseille, is well-suited for Tottenham Hotspur. He said: "Give him a few matches, and I'm confident things will improve. The team needs time to adapt to the new style of play the manager wants to implement. I'm very confident they can turn things around and climb the table."

Speaking about his former Tottenham Hotspur teammate Kane, Sigurdsson said: "You can see his professionalism and goal-scoring ability. Early in your career, you never anticipate how high you might eventually reach, but he's achieved an incredible level. His goal tally is astounding. If it weren't for Messi and Ronaldo, he'd probably be the top scorer every calendar year. But his efforts deserve recognition. Given how humble he is, he deserves everything he has now."

Regarding Kane's prospects of competing for the Ballon d'Or, Sigurdsson said: "I played with him, and it would be fantastic if he could win it. You can't say he doesn't deserve it because he's scored so many goals for club and country. If he wins it, that would be something special."

When asked about the toughest defender he faced in the Premier League, Sigurdsson said: "There were many great defenders, but John Terry was a very tough opponent. It's difficult to pick just one outright, but he's certainly one of them."

Regarding the strongest teammate he's ever played with, Sigurdsson said: "It's hard not to pick Bale or Kane; both reached incredible heights later in their careers."
