Center-back Gabriel expressed his frustration over the club's situation following Corinthians' 1-4 defeat to Palmeiras.

The veteran player said that delayed wages are affecting the players, particularly the younger ones. He offered financial support to teammates and criticized the club's leadership for failing to "protect" the players.

"I can manage for a while, but some players cannot. When I started my career, I earned very little. If I were in their situation, my family might go hungry. Yesterday, I spoke with some players and told them I'm willing to help if they need anything."

He expressed disappointment with Corinthians' leadership.

"We can't always blame wages or say the leadership didn't protect players as they should. We're tired of constantly having to come here and defend the club. We will always protect Corinthians, but there are some professionals we're tired of defending."

"I've sacrificed so much to pursue my dream, and now I'm living in a nightmare."

"If anyone in the leadership wants to talk to me and say I'm wrong, I'll come back and say it again. We need protection. Someone needs to pay salaries so staff get paid. Damn it, it's shameful, you know. Come here and say that players need to help players. That's a disgrace for a club like Corinthians."

Gabriel became emotional while discussing the club's current situation. Corinthians are currently just one position above the relegation zone and have lost 8 of their last Brasileirão matches.

"I'm really struggling. Not because of money, you know; it's because of my love for Corinthians. Many times I want to give everything on the pitch, but sometimes that doesn't happen. Outside issues are affecting us too much. Leadership, the president—all of this greatly impacts the players."

"I always try to tell them that everyone just needs to focus on football. All of this will pass. I hope Corinthians can sort everything out. Things will change."
