According to AS, Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise is a player who could reshape the transfer market in the coming years, and he has attracted the attention of several top European clubs, including Real Madrid. Bayern hopes to extend his contract and is willing to make him the highest-paid player at the club.

Olise's current contract with Bayern runs until 2029. He joined Bayern two summers ago from Crystal Palace for a transfer fee of around €53 million. It is surprising that the Premier League's top six missed out on him at that price. Given his performances and interest from other clubs, Bayern needs to improve many conditions to secure the signature of the French player.

Bayern is willing to go to great lengths for Olise, preparing to make him the highest-paid player at the club, surpassing Kane and Musiala, and doubling his current salary from €14 million to over €25 million as he is demanding.

However, there is one point where Bayern must concede, albeit reluctantly: Olise wants a release clause included in his contract. This would ensure he has an exit strategy even if he stays. His insistence on this point shows that staying in Munich is a strong preference, but he always wants to keep a trump card in case he decides to leave someday.

In Germany, release clauses do not exist unless specifically stated in the contract, and this is what the French player and his agent want. Recently, contract extensions for several Bundesliga clubs have included such clauses, like Gvardiol and Olmo at Leipzig. Others, like Haaland, had release clauses included when they signed their initial contracts. Bayern previously resisted this, but first Kane, then Musiala, and now Olise are forcing them to reconsider.

The difficulty lies in setting a price that meets both the club's and player's expectations. Bayern wants €200 million, while Olise wants significantly less. This says it all.
