Last weekend, renowned journalist David Ornstein of The Athletic was part of TNT Sports' commentary team for the match between Arsenal and Leeds United. Before the match, he revealed that Premier League clubs have differing reactions to Man City being found guilty of breaching all alleged financial rules, with some expressing "sympathy and understanding".

Ornstein said: "My sense is that if the verdict is severe (and it has been), then the independent commission may look to impose heavy sanctions. This is not my view or opinion, and if Man City ultimately loses the case, they will also try to prevent this from happening."
"For other clubs, their reactions are very mixed. Some clubs feel they have been treated unfairly, believing they have been robbed of titles, prize money and revenue over many years. They want Man City to face the harshest punishments, whether that's expulsion, points deduction, transfer ban, fines, etc."
"Others are more sympathetic and understanding. They hold Man City in high regard, both as a Premier League member and as a commercial partner with whom they have conducted numerous transfer market dealings. Man City has spent heavily to sign players from them, and they have also provided Man City with players, staff and executives who are now spread across English football."
"This will provoke emotional reactions. Some clubs may pursue legal action, and some individuals may pursue legal action, but all of this can only happen once the process is complete. There are still a series of procedures to go through: appeals, hearings on sanctions and potential appeals against the sanctions outcome. So we need to be patient and let the legal process unfold properly."
