Galatasaray fans have issued a fierce warning to Barcelona ahead of their Champions League encounter. Goal.com reported that they deployed "Welcome to Hell," a phrase that has instilled fear in European opponents for decades. This foreshadows the hostile atmosphere Barcelona will face inside one of Europe's most intimidating and formidable stadiums for visiting teams.

Galatasaray's home stadium, Rams Park (formerly Ali Sami Yen Stadium), is considered one of the most challenging venues for away teams. Despite only opening in 2011 with a capacity of 54,000, it transforms into a genuine cauldron whenever fierce rivals visit.

The previous stadium was once known as "Turkish Hell," and the new stadium has inherited this tradition. Fans unfurl a massive tifo bearing the phrase "Welcome to Hell" to greet visiting teams. The stadium was originally named after Ali Sami Yen, the club's founder, and later renamed after Rams Global, a major sponsor and influential multinational corporation active primarily in the construction industry.

The "Hell" nickname is not without merit. Data supports it. On March 18, 2011, during a historic derby against fierce rivals Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray fans set a then-world record for noise in a football stadium at 131.76 decibels. The club itself publicized this remarkable figure, emphasizing the extraordinarily passionate atmosphere that drives the team to victory.

Despite the hellish atmosphere, Barcelona arrives in Istanbul with a strong historical record. Familiar with such environments, the club has demonstrated the ability to silence the stadium on their last three visits.

On March 19, 2002, under manager Carles Rexach, Barcelona won with a second-half goal from Luis Enrique. The following year, under manager Louis van Gaal, the Catalan side secured a 2-0 victory with goals from Patrick Kluivert and Luis Enrique, with Enrique's strike marking his 100th goal for Barcelona.

In 2023, at the new stadium, Barcelona claimed another victory in the Europa League Round of 16 with goals from Pedri and Ousmane Dembélé, once again proving that "Turkish Hell" alone cannot stop the Catalan side.
