West Ham have asked about Brazilian defender Vitao who is on loan at Internacional from Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Hammers are trying to make early headway in the market for new boss Julen Lopetegui.

Vitao has made three appearances from Internacional's seven league matches in the Brazilian league so far.

The 24-year old is also a target for Villarreal, who missed on on a European spot after finishing eighth in LaLiga.
