Kane was interviewed by Hargreaves on TNT Sports and watched video messages sent to him by his former coaches, old teachers, as well as Crouch, Gerrard, Michael Owen, and others. Regarding the Ballon d'Or competition, Kane said that last season was his best performance to date, but the final result is no longer within his control, and he can only wait for the outcome.

Who was that just now?

Kane: He was my first coach at Ridgeway Rovers, I must have been about 5 years old then. He's also a massive Tottenham fan, so when I started playing for Tottenham, he was obviously thrilled. He was really good. I mean, we were all a bit scared of him when we were kids.

Really?

Kane: Yes, he had a very loud voice, and you had to do what he said. But I just loved playing football then. Ridgeway Rovers was my first team, and he was the coach there. We spent a few years together. He was very good at nurturing young kids, letting them play freely, and letting them enjoy football. There wasn't much pressure then, like "you must become a professional player" or "you must go somewhere." The whole environment was quite relaxed.

I think he's probably still involved in coaching now. We occasionally keep in touch, so it was really nice to hear his message.

Crouch: Harry, it's Crouch. Mate, you've had an incredible season. It's truly unbelievable to see an English center-forward accomplish everything you have. The goals, the records, and the trophies, you've pretty much done everything there is to do in football, and sometimes it looks so effortless.

Mate, the achievements you've made since then are truly remarkable. From seeing you as a young player at Tottenham to growing into the player you are today, it's truly incredible. We all know you're one of England's greatest ever goalscorers, but I think what's more important is the way you've always conducted yourself. It feels like you've never made it all about yourself.

For me personally, that hug with you at the Azteca Stadium was a very special moment that I'll truly never forget.

Because, you know, you're a hero to so many people, but for me, you're also my hero, and for many retired players as well. This is not only because of what you've achieved but also because of the person you are. You're truly a great person. But the next time I see you, you still have to lose to me at golf.

Kane: Well, I guess we'll have to go to Beaverbrook next time. He's really a great guy.

I was a young player then, and he was still at Tottenham. We had a short time playing together. I remember he was especially funny. For a young player just entering that environment, he was really good to me then. He was also a very distinctive character in the dressing room. Crouch is really great. As for that moment he just mentioned...

I was there too, I was commentating on that game.

Kane: Oh, you were there too, right? We were all celebrating then, that feeling of relief and excitement was particularly strong. We almost squeezed in with the fans. Later, everyone slowly calmed down, and we started walking back. Of course, you couldn't possibly miss Crouch, he's too conspicuous. He just... he just stood there, and then we hugged. Kane: Wow. Yeah, student days feel like a million years ago. Those are the days I was talking about. You know, back then you'd dream of playing for Tottenham or England one day. I don't think Bayern Munich was in my dreams back then.

But you admired Beckham a lot when you were a kid, right?

Kane: Yes, Beckham. David Beckham was undoubtedly my idol. He went to the same school as me, and we grew up in the same area. When I was growing up, he was the England captain, so all of that made me want to follow in his footsteps. Of course, he later went to play abroad. Maybe at the time, I didn't fully understand why he would leave the Premier League.

But as I slowly got to this point, started to understand myself better, and really started to experience football at the highest level, when I decided to come here later... I know that playing abroad is not a choice many English players make, but it's definitely the best decision I've ever made. So, in a way, following in his footsteps, growing myself, and experiencing something different, that might also be part of it.

But back to that message, thank you very much for it. I have many very fond memories of school football. Back then, you were just a carefree kid, only thinking about scoring goals and playing football. I don't even think I truly thought about becoming a professional player when I was 11 or 12. It was just a dream.

Of course, as you slowly grow older, it becomes more and more like a real possibility, and you start to understand what sacrifices need to be made for it. And I was willing to do a lot of things that many others weren't willing to do, which is a major reason why I'm here today.

Gerrard: Harry, hi, it's Steven Gerrard. I just want to say that I'm truly sorry I never had the chance to be on the pitch with you. For a long time, I've been watching you from afar. It feels really special to hear a player like Michael talk about me like that. You know, I grew up watching Michael play, and I was a very passionate England fan then. So, it really makes me very proud.

Because I know that not too long ago, I was that fan sitting there, hoping to become a professional footballer one day.

And now I'm here, and I'm starting to win awards like this. The Ballon d'Or is the same. Of course, it's out of my hands now; it's ultimately up to the voters and those who make the decision. This season has undoubtedly been my best season so far.

So, we'll just have to wait and see. It's a bit strange because, you know, I'm already focusing on this season and thinking about the next season, thinking about whether I can get better, whether I can continue to improve.
