In the fifth round of the Premier League, Manchester City defeated Sunderland with Brobbey scoring a hat-trick, marking the 21st hat-trick by a Dutch player in the Premier League.

Dutch players have scored 21 hat-tricks in the Premier League, the most by any foreign nationality. This is followed by French players with 19 hat-tricks, Argentinian and Norwegian players with 18 hat-tricks each, and Spanish players in fifth place with 12 hat-tricks.

The 21 Premier League hat-tricks by Dutch players are: Ruud van Nistelrooy 5, Robin van Persie 5, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink 4, Patrick Kluivert 2, Dennis Bergkamp 1, Marc Overmars 1, Dirk Kuyt 1, Georginio Wijnaldum 1, and Brobbey 1.
