When Dembele joined Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023, he probably didn't imagine that he would lift two Champions League trophies and win the Ballon d'Or after an exceptional individual performance (53 games, 35 goals, 16 assists) in the 2024/2025 season. However, despite not hiding his pride at being crowned the world's best player last year, Dembele still emphasized the importance of collective effort.

"You can't have one without the other. One person can't do everything. You can be the best player, score lots of goals, but the people around you also need to raise their level. As I said, this is an individual award, but the team helped me tremendously. In the year we won the trophy, the team put me in the best conditions. I especially remember Barcola, who provided me with many assists. This is also the result of teamwork," Dembele said in an interview.
