UEFA announced that the first installment of approximately €31.5 million will be distributed this week to clubs that released players for the 2024/25 UEFA Nations League, benefiting 611 clubs in total.

This amount is part of a total of €104 million allocated to clubs releasing players for the 2024/25 and 2026/27 UEFA Nations League seasons and the UEFA EURO 2028 qualifiers. The distribution mechanism for this scheme remains consistent with previous cycles. Under the scheme, clubs receive compensation per player per match. Clubs receive €3,845 for each eligible player for every match played in the UEFA Nations League and EURO qualifiers. For UEFA EURO 2028, the compensation standard will change to per player per day.

The scheme benefits 611 clubs across all UEFA member associations, including numerous amateur clubs. RB Leipzig from Germany will receive the highest total compensation in this payment, earning approximately €353,000 for releasing 16 players.

UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin stated: "The Club Benefits Programme acknowledges the vital contribution clubs make to the success of national team football. Through this programme, we distribute a portion of EURO and Nations League revenues to clubs across Europe, both professional and amateur, recognizing their role in developing players and releasing them for national team duty. When football thrives, everyone benefits."

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Chairman of the European Club Association, said: "The Club Benefits Programme is a very important part of UEFA's strategic partnership with the European Club Association. Its scale and impact are clear, with over 600 clubs of different sizes benefiting from this first payment. It recognizes the significant contribution clubs make to international competitions by developing players and allowing them to compete for their national teams. We are very pleased to continue strengthening this important link between club and national team football."

The current Club Benefits cycle is linked to UEFA EURO 2028, with a total distribution of €244 million, including a €4 million surplus from the UEFA EURO 2024 scheme. Of this amount, €104 million is allocated to clubs releasing players for the 2024/25 and 2026/27 UEFA Nations League seasons and the UEFA EURO 2028 qualifiers, while another €140 million is reserved for clubs releasing players for the final tournaments.

Subsequent payments under the scheme will be made in phases as the relevant competitions conclude.
