According to AS, Mbappé will likely miss the match against Villarreal as a precaution.

The report states that Mbappé is no longer with the French national team after sustaining an injury in his first international match. During that game against Turkey, he injured his left knee while scoring, then ran off clutching it in pain. Mbappé initially wanted to continue playing but quickly stopped and requested to be substituted.

This decision helped him avoid a more serious injury, as Real Madrid believes that if he had tried to push through, the injury could have worsened, potentially requiring surgery and a longer recovery period.

However, the injury is not serious. According to Real Madrid's medical assessment following examinations in Madrid, Mbappé suffered a hyperextension of the posterior joint capsule in his left knee, and the club estimates he will be sidelined for approximately two weeks. With Real Madrid facing Villarreal away on October 10, Mbappé will likely miss this match as a precaution. Real Madrid is also mindful that El Clásico at Camp Nou is scheduled for October 25.

Mbappé was recently photographed in Paris with his partner and friends. Mourinho and his coaching staff approved the trip, and Real Madrid's medical team also consented to the arrangement. Real Madrid believes that Mbappé currently only needs active rest and does not need to remain at the Valdebebas training ground. Mbappé's recovery process has been described as "consensual" and "coordinated."

He was also absent from Real Madrid's training at Valdebebas on Thursday. Real Madrid's plan is for him to accelerate his recovery the following week, but not to target the Villarreal match as a goal. The club will maintain a cautious approach and will not take unnecessary risks, because what truly matters is having him ready for Barcelona. Whether Mbappé plays or not, all decisions are made in coordination with Mourinho.
