According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal has decided to abandon a large-scale expansion of the Emirates Stadium, opting instead to continuously improve home facilities and the matchday experience.

Over the past few years, Arsenal has been exploring options to redevelop its home stadium with the goal of increasing capacity. Currently, the Emirates Stadium holds 60,704 fans, a smaller capacity than those of Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham, and Liverpool. Matchday ticket demand is high, and Arsenal's season ticket waiting list is reportedly decades long.
However, Arsenal has now chosen to pursue "continuous evolution" of the Emirates Stadium rather than a major expansion. A large-scale redevelopment would likely require the team to temporarily relocate to another venue, a plan that has been ruled out, particularly as Mikel Arteta's team pursues sustained success. The club's focus will now be on improving the matchday experience.
Safe standing has already been implemented in the Clock End and will be extended to parts of the North Bank next season. Arsenal has also pledged to improve 5G mobile network coverage within the stadium, with progress updates expected before the end of the current season.
The first meeting of Arsenal's Advisory Board for this season was held last month, attended by club executives and fan representatives to discuss stadium plans. Co-chairman Josh Kroenke participated remotely, while Chief Communications Officer Richard Garlick attended in person.
In a post-meeting statement, Arsenal said the club's clear priority is "to win major trophies in a financially sustainable way, while keeping supporters at the heart of everything we do."
The club will also continue to expand corporate hospitality and premium service offerings to further boost matchday revenue. This includes the introduction of The Touchline package, which allows fans to watch warm-ups from the pitchside before walking across the pitch to seats behind the Arsenal dugout. This package was priced at £5,799 per person for Arsenal's match against Manchester City in November.
Despite the club's increased focus on corporate hospitality, the number of general admission seats is not expected to be affected. The Arsenal Supporters' Trust stated: "The capacity of the Emirates Stadium will not change. The focus will be on behind-the-scenes facilities, with more premium hospitality services expected. The club has again confirmed to us that there are currently no plans to relocate or reduce general admission seating. However, all fans must remain vigilant and continue to emphasize the importance of protecting the stadium."
