"I firmly believe that Diana Bianchedi is the person who best represents the cultural bridge between football and other sports, both in terms of values and her professional, sporting, and business experience. I mistimed it." During an interview on Radio 1's "Radio Anch'io Sport" program, when asked, "If you could do it again, what step would you not take?", Italian Football Federation president Gabriele Gravina responded, "I contacted all relevant parties at the time, and I can assure you that no one can deny this. It was August, and everything was still on hold—" Gravina said regarding Bianchedi's appointment as Italy national team manager, "The league hadn't started yet, and the World Cup was over... This matter was probably also interpreted by the media as throwing a stone into a pond, like a provocation, which objectively created a crisis for me that I believe should not have happened. However, I learned one thing: in life, even for a well-reasoned decision, timing is crucial."
