The midfielder has finally put pen to paper with the Guinean champions

Guinean giants AC Horoya have signed midfielder Patrick Razak from Hearts of Oak in a two-year deal with an option to extend it for an additional year, the two clubs have announced.

The 28-year-old was linked with a move to Asante Kotoko as his contract with Hearts was about to expire and his agent reportedly met the Kumasi giants' top hierarchy to conclude talks.

However, Hearts rejected the proposal, insisting they would not transfer their players to a direct rival no matter the fee involved.

"Hearts of Oak is happy to announce that our midfielder Patrick Razak has signed for Horoya AC in a two-year contract. We wish him all the best in his new chapter," a club statement read.

Razak expressed his delight and showed gratitude to the Phobians for their role in his rise.

"It feels good. A lot of discussions went into this and I'm glad that I've finally sealed this move," Razak said.

"There is no time to waste now so I'm preparing for the new season so that I can join hands with my new teammates to make an impact on the continent.

"I believe this is the best option for my career and I'm glad everything has been concluded. I want to thank the supporters, technical team and former teammates of Hearts for their role in this success story," he added.

Razak won the 2017 West Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana.
