Former Tottenham and Middlesbrough striker Mido is close to agreeing a deal to become the new head coach of Paris Saint-Germain's Under 19 side, the man himself has claimed.

Despite being just 34 years old, Mido has already garnered experience as a coach, a manager and even a technical director across several clubs in his native Egypt.

Originally taking temporary charge of Zamalek in 2014, Mido has since enjoyed short stints as a director of youth football for the sam club and a technical director for Lierse. Most recently, he managed of Wadi Degla until the end of last season.

Now free to explore his next opportunity, PSG look to have finally bagged their man after he originally turned down a similar opportunity with them four years ago.

Mido confirmed KingFut: 'There are negotiations going on, it might happen very soon.'

The same report claims he will take charge of their Under 19 team with the target of preparing the best young players for life in the senior squad alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Whilst busy gaining managerial experience, Mido has also acted as a pundit for BeIN Sports, which is owned by PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and may go a long way to explaining the potential link-up.

Despite a short career as a manager, Mido already boasts a major piece of silverware after he won the Egypt Cup with Zamalek four years ago, becoming the youngest manager ever to win a title in the country.

The former striker scored 28 goals while in England during spells at Tottenham, Middlesbrough, Wigan and West Ham and Barnsley.
