Saudi media personality Waleed Al-Farraj revealed that he and Italian transfer expert Romano had a dispute over transfer information concerning Al-Ahli.

Al-Farraj stated on the program "Rotana Sport with Waleed": "Al-Ahli indeed had problems, but the mobilization and negativity within the club over the past period were terrible."
He explained: "For example, Romano once posted that Al-Ahli signed Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Artem Bondarenko for a fixed transfer fee of 18 million euros plus a 1 million euro floating clause."
He added: "This deal ultimately cost only 6 million euros, plus a 1 million euro floating clause, which is why Romano deleted that post. Al-Ahli threatened him with releasing a statement contradicting his claims, so he got scared and deleted the post."
He concluded: "This person is one of the main tools used to pressure clubs, with the help of agents, and in cooperation with some foreign managers and individuals within Saudi clubs."
Al-Ahli is close to signing Bondarenko. This acquisition will fill the void left by the departure of Ivorian midfielder Kessie, whose contract expired after last season, and who left as a free agent.
