Aldo Serena told "MI-Tomorrow" that San Siro should follow the Bernabéu model, undergoing modernization while preserving its original location and main structure.

The former forward, who played for both Inter and Milan, spoke about his special connection with the San Siro stadium: "The first time I took the bus to the stadium with Inter, when its silhouette appeared coming from the direction of Via Caprili, I thought I would never be able to play there. In my Cup Winners' Cup debut, I felt like a spectator on the field, completely awestruck by its beauty. My most beautiful memory is still my Serie A debut in that Inter versus Lazio match—I scored a goal I couldn't have even imagined as a child."

Speaking about the Milan derby, Serena said: "The special thing about the Milan derby is this wonderful stadium, the fans in the stands, and the connection between the two colors: the red like fire and the blue like the sky. The stadium seems to come alive, vibrating, jumping, and roaring."

Recalling Inter's 1989 championship-winning campaign, Serena said: "That season, I won the Scudetto as the league's top scorer, and I was very emotional celebrating around the field. Also, on June 21, 1985, Bruce Springsteen held his first concert in Italy. President Ernesto Pellegrini wanted to sell me to Juventus and invited me to dinner that evening. I asked him to arrange the meeting after the concert. I saw a different San Siro that night, which moved me deeply. Forty years later, I attended his show again, this time with my children."

Speaking about an experience while playing for Milan, Serena said: "After a World Cup, I scored two goals for Milan in front of nearly 90,000 spectators. The fans sang songs cheering for me, and I felt a bit uncomfortable at the time because I knew I would return to Inter the following month. But I still savored that moment and stayed near the stands."

Regarding the future of San Siro, Serena said: "I'm somewhat nostalgic, but the world always moves forward. I would prefer the approach taken at the Bernabéu stadium—undergoing modernization while preserving its original location and main structure."
