According to an interview published on L'Equipe's social media, Como goalkeeper Jean Butez stated that he looks forward to reuniting with Maignan on the French national team.

Jean Butez and Maignan were teammates at Lille and lived close to each other in Milan, where their children attended the same school.

Jean Butez said, "We didn't live far from each other in Milan. Maignan is a close friend of mine, and we occasionally meet at our children's school. It's really nice to chat with him for a bit. Of course, we don't just talk about football; we talk about other things too. He's a great person and an excellent goalkeeper. His efficiency and presence really inspire me. We were teammates at Lille, and it would be great to see him again on the national team."
