Kai Havertz to leave Germany national team camp after suffering hamstring injury in 1st half of Nations League draw vs Netherlands. 

Arsenal forward Kai Havertz will leave Germany’s international camp and is set to undergo a scan after being forced off injured in the 1-1 draw with the Netherlands in Thursday’s Nations League game.

The 27-year-old will now leave his international team-mates and return to his club’s facilities, with optimism that the suspected hamstring injury is not serious.

Havertz pulled up with a suspected hamstring injury in the first half, and afterwards Germany head coach Jurgen Klopp said Havertz and playmaker Jamal Musiala, who was pulled out of the starting XI after suffering a thigh injury in the warm-up, would likely miss the rest of the international break.

“At the moment both are on the MRI (scans),” Klopp told radio network RTL after his first game in charge of Germany. “I hope we get the diagnosis tonight. But of course that’s not great now. I hope this is just nothing bad. The boys are probably out for us. But hopefully then also relatively quickly available again.”

Havertz has started all five of Arsenal’s Premier League games so far this season, scoring twice.

Brian Brobbey, the Sunderland striker, was also forced off in the first half with a suspected hamstring injury.

Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo equalised in stoppage-time to earn new Netherlands head coach Xavi Hernandez a point after Felix Nmecha had opened the scoring for Germany in the first half at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
