Klopp is the third Germany coach to remain winless in his first two matches. Before him, only Sepp Herberger and Helmut Schön failed to win their first two games. Both of these coaches, who later led their teams to World Cup titles, started their tenures with two draws.

Going winless in his first two matches is unusual for Klopp. At Mainz 05 (2001-2008), he secured two consecutive wins after taking charge, suffering his first defeat only in his eighth game.

The situation was similar at Borussia Dortmund (2008-2015): Klopp won his first two matches and didn't lose until his sixth game. At Liverpool (2015-2024), he also didn't suffer his first loss until his sixth match, though he won his first two games.

Whether Klopp can turn things around will depend on Germany's match against Serbia on Thursday.
