Christian Pulisic hopes to extend his AC Milan contract soon as he is "very positive" about their future under Ruben Amorim.

Amorim's Milan are fifth in Serie A after the opening five games, just two points behind leaders Roma, as the Rossoneri remain unbeaten in the competition (W3 D2).

Milan did lose their Europa League opener 2-0 against Benfica, but they bounced back ahead of the international break with a 3-0 league victory over Lecce.

Pulisic scored against Lecce; it was his first Serie A goal in 266 days, since December 2025 against Hellas Verona.

Between those strikes, the American had attempted 39 shots without finding the net in the league, before finally scoring with his 40th attempt.

The 28-year-old struggled for form under Massimiliano Allegri last season, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in 34 games, 20 of which came as a starter.

However, after missing the start of the 2026-27 campaign with injury, Pulisic has found his feet quickly under Amorim.

Pulisic's current deal with the Rossoneri expires next summer, though reports suggest the club hold an option to extend by another year, and the forward is eager to continue in Milan.

"It has been a strange start to the season," Pulisic told Sky Sport Italia.

"I was coming back from an injury and I really wanted to play, but it took time. I worked with the team and coach to get back on the field.

"We are learning his system, how he wants to play. I am very positive about him. Our most recent match was one of the best, so we want to build on that.

"He wants us to find certain positions, especially when we have the ball, and to make specific movements. Obviously, we are also given some freedom in attack, but there are principles and positions to keep to.

"I am very happy at Milan. The club is giving me everything, it helps me a great deal. I am concentrating on playing, but we'll talk about it [new contract], I hope soon.

"I feel really happy at Milan and want to continue here."
