Official news: Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Gross has been named Premier League Player of the Month for September.

The Premier League officially announced that Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Gross was voted Premier League Player of the Month for September 2026, the first time in his career he has received this award.
The 35-year-old Gross contributed 2 goals and 3 assists in September, being involved in a total of 5 goals. He scored one goal and provided two assists in Brighton & Hove Albion's 5-0 victory over Coventry, then scored again against Arsenal and provided an assist in the 3-0 win over Arsenal.
Gross also became the sixth-oldest Player of the Month recipient in Premier League history. Only Stuart Pearce (38 years, 10 months), Teddy Sheringham (38 years, 6 months), Ronaldo (37 years, 2 months), Gianfranco Zola (36 years, 3 months), and Paul Scholes (35 years, 9 months) were older when they received the award.
Furthermore, Gross is the first Brighton & Hove Albion player in club history to win this award, and the fourth German player in Premier League history to receive the Player of the Month award. The previous three were Gündoğan, Sané, and Klinsmann.
