Former Brazilian international Felipe Melo stated in a video that the Portuguese national team's treatment of Ronaldo differs significantly from the Argentine national team's treatment of Messi, and Ronaldo subsequently liked the video.
In the video, Melo said: "In my opinion, it's true, and I agree with Paulo's point of view: the attitude of Portuguese players toward Ronaldo, compared with the attitude of Argentine players toward Messi, is very different.
You know, I see that opponents show much more respect for Ronaldo — maybe I'm wrong, but this is the intuitive impression conveyed to the outside world, right? I see opponents treating Ronaldo with great respect when they play against him. The young player who scored yesterday, Napoli's striker Højlund, completely transformed into an admiring fan after the match, all because Ronaldo is his idol. In contrast, this kind of respect is lacking within the Portuguese national team. I think this is completely wrong.
Because in that Portuguese team, no one compares to Ronaldo.
Do you understand? It really shouldn't be like this! You can't let the greatest player in football history leave as if nothing happened. Absolutely not, this is unacceptable!
He simply left, and no one comforted him.
Absolutely not! This is completely unacceptable..."
Subsequently, Ronaldo's account appeared in the likes of this video post. The video's title was: "In the Portuguese team, no one compares to Ronaldo. Felipe Melo speaks about Ronaldo's current situation in the Portuguese national team."
